Can I register on race day?
No race day registration. Registration will be available at the Expo on Saturday May 26, 2012 from 10:00 AM - 4:00 p.m. Mailed in entries must be received at the marathon office by May 22nd 2012. On-line registration will close at midnight on May 24, 2012.
What is the latest date I can register?

Can I mail in my registration?
You can mail in a completed registration form and send with a cheque or money order to the following address:

Why didn't I receive a confirmation e-mail?
In most cases an incorrect e-mail address was entered. Please e-mail the registration director at registration@winmarathon.com and include your name, race, online registration site you used to register and the date you registered.
Can a friend pick up my race kit for me?
Yes. If you are unable to pick up your race kit you may send a friend to retrieve your race kit. Please have a written note with their signature OR a copy of their confirmation.
I am entered in the race but recently incurred an injury and will be unable to compete. Can I defer my participation to next year?
No. We do not offer deferments or refunds.
May I switch my registration from one race to another?
If you wish to change your registration on-line, it must be completed on or before May 22nd, 2012. An e-mail must be sent to the registration director at registration@winmarathon.com. Any changes after this date will be honoured at the Expo on Saturday May 26th, 2012. Participants who wish to transfer their registration to a shorter race (Marathon to Half Marathon) may do so only if the shorter event is not sold out. No refunds will be issued. Participants who wish to transfer their registration to a longer race (Half Marathon to the Full Marathon) will be charged the difference between the amount they have already paid and the current registration fee for the race to which they wish to transfer, plus a $10 administrative fee.
What is the cancellation policy?
Entry fees are non-refundable. That means that once we receive and accept your entry, you will not receive a refund if you cannot participate. You may not transfer your entry to another participant, or to another year. The Marathon and Half Marathon races accordance with management executives, city officials and local law enforcement has the authority to cancel any of the events for emergency purposes such as, but not limited to, inclement weather or threat of terrorism. If such emergency conditions force cancellation, refunds cannot be provided since funds will have been spent in preparation for Race Day.

Are there Corporate Team or Team Relays?
No.
Is there a Pasta Dinner?

Do participants in all events receive a shirt?
The Full Marathon and Half Marathon registrants all receive a Technical Shirt.
Which races receive medals?
All race participants will receive an official medal.
Do I get my money back if I can't run?
There are no refunds and entries are non transferable.

Is the W-I-N Marathon a Boston Marathon qualifying race?
Yes. 2013 Qualifying Times (effective September 24, 2011):

I do not have a bib number. Can I run the race as an unofficial entrant?
For the safety of all race participants, unofficial entrants are not permitted.
What are the locations for the port-a-potties and water stations?
Port-a-potties and water stations will be located every 3km.
Can I use a baby jogger?
No, jogging strollers are not permitted on any of the races.
How long will the finish be open for the Marathon?
The finish will be open for 5 1/2 hours.
How can I rent a booth at the Expo or insert an item into the runners' kits?

How can I obtain T-Shirts and other souvenirs from the WIN Marathon?
You can purchase merchandise at the Expo site throughout the race weekend.
Is there baggage service and if so where?
Yes, baggage check is provided free to all runners for all races. Baggage details will be confirmed in your final instructions of your race kit. Please note, no checking of purses, valuables or breakables will be permitted. A baggage claim tag and zip tie will be included in your Race Kit. Attached the tag to your bag and give to the attendant at the Baggage Check location. Your bib number is needed to pick up checked baggage after the race.
Baggage Check will open at 5:30 a.m. on Sunday for the Full and Half Marathon.
Is there first aid and medical on course for the event?
First Aid will be at the start/finish lines as well as throughout the course. More details to follow.

What is difference between Chip Time and Gun Time?
Gun Time: The time from the sound of the starters signal to the time when the runner crosses the finish line. Also known as the Official Time. All award categories are prized by Gun Time.
Real Time, Chip Time: The time from when the runner crosses the starting mats at the start line, to the time elapsed when the runner crosses the finishing mats. Prizing is not based on Chip Time.
What is chip removal?
Directly after the finish line volunteers will remove the timing chip from your shoe and present you with your finisher's medal. Runners who do not return their timing chip will be charged $40.
Finish Line Etiquette.
As a courtesy to those finishing behind you please keep moving once you cross the finish line. Do not wait for family or friends in the finishing chute as it will get congested and some runners may not be able to finish. Proceed through the chute where you will be given your medal and have your chip removed.
Where is the Lost and Found?
Lost and Found is located in the Expo located at the bag check.
Am I able to participate as a walker?
The Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K events are runners only. The 5K and Kids' 1K are run/walk events.
Where are the start/finish lines located?
The WIN Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K races will all start at the Whitby Abilites Centre on Gordon Street North and finish at the Whitby Marina Boat Club on Front Street. The 5K run/walk and Kids' 1K will start and finish at the Whitby Marina.
What time do the races begin?
The WIN Marathon, Half MArathon, 10K, and 5K events start at 7:00 am. The Kids' 1K start time is TBD.
